Dr. Richard B. Van Eldik graduated from Calvin College and Seminary in Michigan in 1976 and from the University of Florida School of Medicine in 1980 (Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society.) He completed his Internal Medicine Residency at Vanderbilt University in Nashville in 1983. In 1985, he completed his Fellowship in Gastroenterology at the University of Texas Medical School at San Antonio. He moved to Ocala in July of 1985 and joined Dr. Rumalla in private practice. He was certified as a Diplomat of the American Board of Internal Medicine in 1983 and the American Board of Gastroenterology in 1985. Dr. Van Eldik is past president of the Marion County Medical Society and Florida Gastroenterological Society.
